Mid-summer of 1981, Vivienne Dick, a fearless Irish filmmaker, was part of a group of friends I let up onto the roof of the building where I lived in Times Square to shoot a scene for an indie movie. When I saw her leaning of the edge to view the street far below, my knees went weak as I'm afraid of heights. But fear is my strongest creative guide so I snapped this picture.
